Australian register for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency

The Alpha-1 Association of Australia need to raise AUD 30,000 (in addition to AUD 10,000 which it already holds) in order to establish an Australian register for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a genetically inherited condition.

It's estimated that 1 in 9 Australians carry a defective Alpha-1 gene.

A national register will help put reserachers in touch with patients, ultimately leading to a cure for Alpha-1.
